“In this time when everything is not as we thought, art must take a stand. Artists should have the courage to political debate, but do politicians have also the courage to communicate with critical artists? I would be delighted! “
This quote by the artist Klaus Stein, who will exhibit some of his large- scale works from 31.01.2014 until 03.07.2014 in the EAGL gallery in Berlin- Charlottenburg, describes his critical attitude to life in today’s society. This attitude comes from his experience in the 68ers .
Painted autobiography, sex and political criticism in bright acrylic colors are the main themes of his work. It´s active call to political discourse speaks from each of his paintings, according to the principle: whatever can go wrong, will go wrong.
Vernissage with the artist Klaus Stein on 31.01.2014, 7 p.m., live music from 8 p.m.
The Berlin singer Anna Aliena will do the strong voiced opening with the concept show “Opera meets Alienpop” starting at 8 p.m., also an experience of the “other kind”.
