KAJ STENVALL, foremost Finnish artist, opens his new exhibition “Bond, Euro Bond” in The Brick Lane Gallery. As the title of the exhibition indicates, European financial crisis forms one of the leading themes in a series of Stenvall’s latest paintings. His prominent main figure, a duck symbol remotely resembling Disney’s ducks, comments financial crisis and global economical turmoil as well as several religious issues which have been essential in Stenvall’s art since 1980’s. 
“Religious art as it’s best aims sincerely to evaluate the very essential questions of human life”, says Stenvall. Rather humane is also his take on economical issues, as the painting named Customer Feedback and The Owner of Europe shows us. Exhibition constitutes of 15 art works, mostly from 2012 and 2013. “Bond, Euro Bond” is Kaj Stenvall’s third private exhibition in London. Before London Stenvall’s work has been shown during this year largely in Stockholm, Sweden and in numerous galleries in Finland. Since late 80’s Kaj Stenvall has been one of the most important and probably the most beloved contemporary artist in Finland. His exhibitions are constantly hits in Finnish art scene and his paintings are tempting to the galleries not only established art lovers but also people who usually despise contemporary art.
